Jimmy Little (1937 - 2012) was the first Aboriginal person to have a top 10 single in Australia. He is one of Australia’s most decorated musicians. The ARIA Hall of Fame inductee was made an officer of the Order of Australia in 2004 and appointed a National Living Treasure the same year.

After this period of music Jimmy Little turned to full-time acting, making his theatre debut in Black Cockatoos before appearing in director Wim Wenders’ 1991 film Until the End of the World as well as appearing in Tracy Moffatt’s Night Cries and the opera Black River.
Jimmy also engaged in teaching and community work which earned him the title of MAIDOC Aboriginal of the Year in 1989.
